Day trip to New York to visit the Morgan Library, an Italian Renaissance-style palazzo, with an exhibition of Florentine drawings of the sixteenth century, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the new galleries for Roman and Etruscan art.

Duo Alterno

Presented in collaboration with the Italian Consulate General at the Philadelphia Ethical Society.

From April 20 to April 30, the Society will host a group of Italian students who will visit Philadelphia and enroll in a short English language course in the AIS offices.

Gabriella Romani, assistant Professor of Italian at Seton Hall University, will discuss “Views of Italy: Nineteenth-Century Women Writers, Readers, and the Making of Italy“. On Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Racquet Club




Discussion on Italian Market

The investment firm Charles Schwab and Co.Tuesday, May 8, Reading Room of the Racquet Club at 6:00 pm.
Three international investment specialists will discuss the Italian Market.




Daytrip to New York City

On Wednesday, December 13th 2006, the Society will sponsor a daytrip to New York City to visit:

1)   

at the Guggenheim Museum an exhibition by Lucio Fontana


2)   

at the Frick Collection an exhibition about Cimabue and Early Italian Devotional Painting and Tiepolo (1727-1804): A New Testament


3)   


at the Museum of Modern Art an exhibition about Rossellini on Paper



We will accompany the guests to and from the museum.
Included in the price is the bus transportation, the exhibition ticket and guide services.
Cost is $ 95.

Spring 2006
The America-Italy Society invites Members to its annual lecture series.
On these occasions renowned authorities talk about Italian history, politics, fine arts, literature, archeology, etc.

These programs keep the membership informed about current events and trends in Italy as well as enhancing their understanding of Italy’s colorful history. These lectures are preceded by receptions, which enable members to meet the speakers.




Daytrip to New York City
On Saturday, January 14th, the Society will sponsor a daytrip to New York City. Fra Angelico exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We will accompany the guests to and from the museum. Included in the price is the bus transportation, the exhibition ticket and guide services.
Cost: approximately $ 75.
Members will receive a 5 percent discount.
